MANETTE — While hundreds of protesters lined the Manette Bridge on Sunday, Jonathan “Fro” Perry decided it was time to paint.

It wasn’t that Perry, who is black and lives in East Bremerton, didn’t want to join in the peaceful “call for justice” in the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of a now-former police officer charged with murder. But Perry knew it wasn’t the best way he could express himself.
